What do you think about Apple’s cheap iPhone XR?

When its price starts at $749, there isn’t really anything “cheap” about the cheap iPhone XR.

But aside from the price, how did I like the phone: it looks decent. And with all the premium-like features it carries –unlike Apple’s last budget venture with iPhone SE, which was awful – it’s very likely that iPhone XR could very well appeal middle-class individuals, ultimately overthrowing China’s Huawei to (again) become the world’s second largest phone maker.

On many levels, iPhone XR is a cheaper and better version of iPhone X. Its battery life is better, expected to last 90 minutes longer than the previous launches. It supports dual sim; yes, iPhone with dual sim!!!! With 326ppi retina display and 1792x 828-pixel resolution, the video streaming in 4K is crystal clear and insane.

The “Cheap iPhone XR” has the FaceID with the same true depth camera system as iPhone XS. It is water resistant and comes with latest iOS 12. With 6.1 inch screen, one thing that might bug the budget buyers about this iPhone is its camera. It’s great! But in an age of dual cameras, the XR has single 12-megapixel. But then again, it’s great! The phone comes in three variants: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

Also, this time, Apple is providing much more (and exciting) options in terms of color. iPhone XR comes in many colors:blue, coral, yellow, white, black and product red. (Really very excited about yellow).

Aside from the “cheap iPhone XR”, Apple also launched the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

iPhone XS starts at $999. With 5.8 inch super retina OLED, it comes with Dual 12-megapixel. Pixel density is 458ppi.

iPhone XS Max starts at $1,099. It has 6.5-inch super retina OLED. It, too, has a dual 12-megapixel camera and pixel density of 458ppi.

Processors and cameras in both of these phones have been improved. And there are few other minor upgrades from iPhone X. Nothing big really! Even with a smaller price tag and considerably low priority from the company, iPhone XR will likely steal away all the headlines and spotlights. And rightly so. It delivers the right value for money that can really help Apple enter a rather new segment, which it failed with iPhone SE and iPhone 5C.

And, oh, btw, still no signs of the headphone jack.
