In the field of space science, the successful accomplishment of Mission Shakti is no less than an achievement for India. Informing the country about the mission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India has destroyed a foreign satellite in space. With this, India has become the fourth country in the world to achieve this feat.
The most special thing about Mission Shakti is that it was solely done by the Indian space agencies, ISRO and DRDO, without any foreign aid. So it is a proud moment for India that Mission Shakti is entirely swadesi.
Â
It is quite obvious that PM Modi must have tried to take the whole credit on his capable shoulders, after the accomplishment. That’s the reason why he posted the information in the name of the nation and not in the name of the space agencies involved.
Â
In the era of social media, however, the opposition party could not let BJP take all the credit so easily.
Â
Congress, now, is molding the dialogue on Mission Shakti to take some credit for itself as well.
Â
Congress has brought forth the fact that ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) was established on 15th August 1969, during the rule of Congress. And DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organization) was established in 1958 when Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was the Prime Minister of India.
Â
The formation of ISRO was started by Pt. Nehru with his scientist friend Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai.
So we can say that Mission Shakti has helped Congress, and not BJP, for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. The whole credit of the mission, however, goes to none other than the scientists of ISRO.
