Dehydration is caused by not drinking enough fluid or by losing more fluid than you drink. Fluid is lost from the body through sweat, tears, urine or exercising. Dehydration is more in the summer season. It can be due to heat, excessive activity, insufficient fluid intake, excessive sweating or side effects of any medication. It can also happen when you are sick with fever ,diarrhea , vomiting or simply because you forgot to drink water in your busy schedule.

Dehydration can be the result of a number of different causes, including diarrhea, vomiting, strenuous exercise and heat exposure. Such dehydration can make you feel lightheaded, dizzy or spacey. This is probably due to low levels of sodium in your body which leads to changes in the fluid that surrounds your brain.

Some other common signs of dehydration are dry mouth and lips, loss of appetite and thirst that's not really quenched by water.
