Here are the steps involved in making paper
Pulping: The first step is to turn the raw materials into a pulp. This can be done by chopping up wood, straw, or other plant fibers, and then adding water to create a slurry.
Screening: The pulp is then screened to remove any large pieces of debris.
Addition of fillers and sizing agents: Fillers, such as calcium carbonate or kaolin, are added to the pulp to give the paper strength and opacity. Sizing agents, such as starch or gelatin, are added to make the paper water-resistant.
Forming: The pulp is then poured onto a screen, where it is drained of water. The thickness of the paper is determined by the size of the screen.
Pressing: The wet paper is then pressed to remove more water.
Drying: The paper is then dried, either in a heated chamber or by passing it through a series of rollers.
Finishing: The paper may be further processed to add gloss, smoothness, or other properties.
