The Securities and Exchange Board of India, otherwise known as SEBI is an organization for the securities and commodities markets. SEBI has been registered under the Ministry of Finance which is a part of the Government of India. SEBI was founded on the 12th of April, 1988 and the Headquarters of the same is in Mumbai. The current Chairperson of SEBI is Ms. Madhabi Puri Buch. She took over from Mr. Ajay Tyagi, recently on the 1st of March, 2023. Ms. Madhabi Puri Buch is considered to be the first woman chairperson of SEBI.
