Cricket is the most viewed sport after Soccer worldwide. In 1887, cricket test matches were recognized and played by many nations. During its toddler days, cricket was played as a six days test match with 1 rest day and there were 4 balls per over. Moreover limited over matches were played 60,55 or 50 overs by each team although the standard 50 overs were set by ICC for a long time.

In a 50 overs, ODI matches are all about the runs only irrespective of wickets. The team who scored most runs is the winner. This can be the first batting team or the chasing team.

Technology is improving by reducing the size of the mother board with multiplying the performance and speed. Likewise with the reducing overs the players are scoring relatively more runs. The test match runs of a team which batted for 2 or 3 days is now achieved easily by a team in half a day or even in 20 overs. Same can be told for batsmen also. India's Rohit Sharma scored 264 runs in ODI against Sri Lanka in 2014.

If we see the records of ODI matches, Australia was the first team to score 400+ runs. In March 2006 while playing against South Africa, Australia scored 434 runs in 50 overs at New Wanderers Stadium Johannesburg. But South Africa chasing this massive score scored 438 runs in 49.5 overs and won the match with one wicket in hand. This match is regarded as the greatest ODI of all time. This match set the record of the highest successful run chase of all time and the highest match aggregate runs scored in an ODI.

In another match while playing against India in 2015, South Africa scored the same 438 runs in 50 overs. Again South Africa scored 439 runs when the opponent was West Indies at Johannesburg in January 2015. Sri Lanka beat that record by scoring 443 runs against weak team Netherlands. But 2 years back England beat all the records by scoring huge runs against Pakistan. England scored 444 runs against Pakistan in Nottingham. Recently 3 days back on 19th June 2018 England again set a world record. It scored 481 runs against Australia in Nottingham. They won the match by 242 runs.

Machines are doing men's work and humans are becoming machine while scoring runs.
