The IPL 2026 season has already reached a very exciting stage today, April 14, 2026. If you ask me which team I am backing to win the trophy, it is a very tough choice because the points table is changing every day. But looking at the deep research and current form of all teams, I have a few strong favorites.
Right now, Rajasthan Royals (RR) are looking like the most dangerous team. Even though they lost their last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad yesterday, they are still sitting at the top of the table with 8 points from 5 matches. Their young talent, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, is playing like a dream. Imagine, a 15-year-old boy has already scored 200 runs! With Yashasvi Jaiswal and a strong bowling attack, RR is definitely a top contender for the trophy.
However, we cannot ignore the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). They are currently in 3rd place and their star players like Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar are in great form. RCB finally won the trophy last year, and they are playing with that same confidence this time too. Their win against Mumbai Indians two days ago showed that they can handle high-pressure games very well.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings (PBKS) are the "dark horse" this season. They are in second place with seven points and haven't lost a single game yet (one was rain-affected). If they keep this consistency, they might finally win their first-ever IPL title.
Today, we have a big match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). CSK is struggling at the 9th spot with only one win, and KKR is at the bottom. But we all know that MS Dhoni’s CSK can make a comeback anytime.
Personally, I am backing Rajasthan Royals to win the IPL 2026 trophy. They have a perfect mix of young blood and experienced players. Their net run rate is also excellent. But in IPL, things can change in one week. Let’s see how the mid-season goes.
