In the United States, the Air Force Day is an annual celebration celebrated on 8th October. The holiday was first approved by President Harry Truman on December 18, 1949. It was originally called "Air Force Day" before it became "Air Force Day" with three additional days. For many years, Air Force Day has been marked with events which include parades and flyovers of military aircraft in different cities across America; visits to local airports; breakfast teas at military installations; and celebrations at Armed Forces Retirement Home facilities.
