For Asian Games 2018, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA)decided to drop a handful of sports to make the event short. Cricket is one of them. So, the reason why India didn’t sendits cricket team to participate in the Asian Games 2018 is because cricket is not included in the event. (Duh!!!)

BCCI didn't send Indian Cricket Team owing to Champions League - CLT20 Tournament though they have mentioned International Commitments in their Press release.
"The BCCI has announced that it will not send a cricket team from India, in both men and women categories, for the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. The board said the teams will not be available for the global event between November 12 and 27 because of the international schedule."
