India has done the nuclear testing twice. The first time it happened, Indra Gandhi was the Prime Minister and second time, Atal Bihari Bajpae was at that position. The first test was for showing the world that India too now has the potential to make nuclear bombs and it has come a long way in the field of science and technology. But the second test was rather unnecessary and only for a show.

The first nuclear test helped India enter the list of the nations having nuclear power. Also, it gave a warning to the neighboring nations who were about to go on war with India, that if a war happens India is all set to retaliate fiercely. India was even counted in the developed nations of the world after the first nuclear testing and was benefited a lot on the internationally. The nations who used to neglect India started taking it seriously.
India’s reputation got bettered up significantly and the nation started getting significant recognition in several other fields as well.
