Honestly, I think fathers absolutely deserve equal parental leave. We've normalized the idea that mothers need time to bond with newborns, but why not fathers? I've seen too many dads miss out on those crucial first months because workplaces treat parental leave as a women's issue.
The thing is, equal parental leave isn't just fair but practical. When both parents can take time off, families are less stressed, marriages are stronger, and kids benefit from having both parents involved early.
Furthermore it challenges the outdated notion that women are natural caregivers while men are just breadwinners. If we really want gender equality, we need to start here. Workplaces that offer equal parental leave actually report better employee retention and satisfaction.
