Good question. Broadly speaking, product design focuses on the user — it deals with how a product looks, feels, and functions for the end-user: ease of use, ergonomics, aesthetics, and the overall user experience.

Industrial design (or design for manufacturing) goes deeper into how that product will be made — considering materials, manufacturability, cost-effective production, tolerances, and scalability.
