Balendra Shah, Nepal's youngest prime minister at 35, was sworn in after his Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) won 182 seats in the 275 member parliament in the March 5 election. As a rapper turned politician, he became Nepal's first Madhesi prime minister representing the southern plains bordering India.
He previously served as mayor of Kathmandu, where he became popular among youth as an influential young politician opposed to Nepal's traditional political elites. He was sworn in wearing black trousers, matching jacket, signature black Nepali cloth cap and sunglasses, and released a rap song titled Jay Mahakaali about unity.
He's trending because he's literally the world's youngest PM and came from nowhere.
