Why did Nusrat Jahan arrived wearing mangalsutra and sindoor at her oath taking ceremony?
Finally TMC MP Nusrat Jahan has spoken on the matter of her wearing sindoor and mangalsutra for her oath taking ceremony in the Parliament. Actress turned MP Nusrat Jahan made it to headlines for days when she arrived wearing vermillion, mangalsutra, and red bangles (chudha) for her oath taking ceremony.

Her pictures went viral on social media and she was trolled a lot. Some people and communities didn’t take this gesture of hers positively. She however, turned a deaf ear to all these trolls and criticism.
In one of her recent interviews, however, she talked openly about her newly-wed avatar. She stated the reason as she had her house entering ceremony (griha pravesh) just two hours before her oath taking ceremony in the Parliament. She had to get her oath taking ceremony postponed because of her marriage.
Due to lack of time, she didn’t change into other clothes and took her oath in the same attire of the previous ceremony. She also told media that she didn’t expected to be trolled for this. She added that she didn’t found anything wrong in arriving like this. Being an Indian, the attire is nothing but a part of her culture.
Even her gesture of touching the feet of the speaker after her oath also got trolled on social media. She said that she didn’t thought what people would think about that, she felt like that so she did that.
