Are you a feminist? If yes, then why?

If feminist means believing women should have equal rights, equal pay, not be harassed, and have bodily autonomy - then yeah, most reasonable people are. Women in India deal with specific issues - forced marriages, dowry, preference for sons, safety concerns, workplace discrimination.

Supporting women's rights isn't controversial, it's just fair. But the label "feminist" gets loaded with different meanings so it becomes confusing. Some people think feminist means hating men which is dumb. Most feminism is just asking for basic respect and equality. In Indian context, basic things like women's education, safety, and choice are still being fought for, so supporting that is important.

The label is so weighted with baggage it's useless now. What does "feminist" even mean in India - it means different things to different people. Some feminists have regressive views about other things. Some people believe in equality but won't call themselves feminist because of negative stereotypes. Labels are overrated. Better to support specific things you believe in rather than claiming a label. If you care about women's equal opportunities, support that policy. If you care about safety laws, support that. Don't need a label that everyone defines differently. In Indian context, just say "I support women's rights" instead of getting stuck on terminology.

Yes — in the sense that I support equality and equal rights for everyone, because I believe people should have the freedom to make their own choices and manage their own lives, including their finances.

For example, I think everyone should be able to independently control their money and invest how they want, including in crypto, using simple tools like coin24.io for exchanges and transactions.
