Honestly, if you watched the 2026 T20 World Cup, it felt like the bowlers had some amazing moments, but two names kept coming up again and again—Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy. By the end of the tournament, they actually finished joint-top for the most wickets.

Most wickets in T20 World Cup 2026

  • Jasprit Bumrah (India) – 14 wickets

  • Varun Chakravarthy (India) – 14 wickets

Both bowlers ended the tournament with 14 wickets each, sharing the top spot on the wicket-takers list.

What it felt like watching the tournament

If you followed India’s matches, Bumrah looked almost unplayable at times. His yorkers and slower balls were deadly, especially in pressure moments. In the final against New Zealand, he even took 4 wickets for just 15 runs, which basically broke the chase and sealed the title for India.

Varun Chakravarthy was just as impressive in a different way. Batters struggled to read his variations, and he kept picking up crucial wickets throughout the tournament.

Other bowlers who also had great tournaments

A few others were close behind on the wicket charts:

  • Shadley van Schalkwyk (USA) – 13 wickets

  • Blessing Muzarabani (Zimbabwe) – 13 wickets

  • Adil Rashid (England) – 13 wickets

So from a fan’s perspective, it really felt like India dominated both with the bat and the ball—winning the trophy while also having the two leading wicket-takers of the tournament.
