There are different levels and the salary is distributed accordingly. Plus, their pays are regularly revised to match basic standards. The 6th Pay Commission ensures all of them get pay nicely.

The new recruits are the entry level, also called Junior Scale, they get Rs 5400. They stay in this position for at least 2 years of probation before getting promoted to higher level. The second level is called Senior Time Scale who, depending on their experience, can get paid anywhere between Rs 15,600 and Rs 39,000. Although, their basic grade pay is Rs 6,600. Next is Junior Administrative Grade who has a grade pay of Rs 7,600 with a pay band of Rs 15,600-Rs 39,000.

Comes now the Selection Grade who enjoy a grade pay of Rs 8,700 with a pay band of Rs 37,400 to Rs 67,000. At the top level, there’s Super Time Scale who have a minimum of 17 years of experience of service. They have a Grade pay of Rs 8,700 with the pay band of Rs 37,400-67,000.

Of course, the entry levels salary might not look quite big. However, remember, collectors, get a lot of opportunities in their servicing career, including the chance of working closely with the government ministry, which has a bigger package. Its extremly prestigious . They are treated like a king in smaller districts.
